How Green Glows Your Kimchi?
Korea and the Jewish question: Honest Reporting nails Sky News on their warped spin as the paper chooses to focus on our unconfirmed nuclear status in the aftermath of North Korea's test. Where's the correlation, dudes? There's the old joke about the little old Jewish man cornered by a couple of Nazi thugs in the early days of WWII. "Old man," sneers one, "tell us who is responsible for the war."
Trying to avoid a beating or worse, the man replies, "The Jews... and the bicycle riders!"
"Bicycle riders?" asks Thug #2, "why the bicycle riders?"
"Why the Jews?" retorted the man.
The only good spin that anyone can put on the North Korea situation is that perhaps we won't have to worry about our pesky mortgages and bank overdrafts much longer.
Odds 'n ends: Well, mostly odd. As I am too busy today to troll the news, I have to rely on my faithful minions to hunt down the choicest morsels for you.
- LS of Karmiel alerts us to what we are missing by not living in Japan. If you think that you have access to great vending machines, think again. (Nadine and I agree that the rhinoceros beetles are a great idea.)
- LS also shares this Reuters story about gay storks. Of course, since it's from Reuters, we'll probably later discover that they're really straight chickens...
- LS (who is clearly not getting any work done today) also thought you should see this latest fat cat extravaganza. It's a kitty cat, indeed (though not as fat as Nadine).
