Under Fire, part 5

Local Strikes: A friend reports, "Never saw rockets hissing through the air and land before, especially not a few dozen metres away. I may try and wack them back to Lebanon with a cricket bat." Park Ofira, in the center of down, gets more than its share of hits, including this one that didn't explode.


We are in a very hilly area of galil ha'maravit (the Western Galilee). Karmiel itself is made up of many hills and is surrounded by mountains on three sides. I can only hear the strikes in some other parts of town. Friends send me photos of houses in their neighborhoods.



This house took a hit on the top balcony. While the external damage doesn't look like much, the ketusha broke through the roof and ceiling. Luckily, the family was not home at the time.
